Together Hearing was founded so that Kassandra Smythe, a licensed hearing instrument specialist, could use her years of experience in the hearing industry to help as many people as possible with hearing solutions. Kassandra was inspired to open up her own practice so she can focus on finding solutions for all patients, regardless of their budget.
Our name refers to our philosophy that we work in partnership with our patients. If we work together, we can find a way to help everyone hear better again. To help Kassandra and Together Hearing, Kassandra's husband of 14 years decided to join her, and was appointed as the office manager. "We make a great team and with our faith and determination, we will strive to continue our mission to help as many people as possible."
Licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist
Kassandra has worked in hearing care for nearly two decades. She started as a staff member at an ophthalmology office that decided to open a hearing department. She joined that team's hearing specialist in developing and establishing the new addition to the practice. Shortly after she started in the field, she helped a husband and wife be able to communicate with one another again — an experience that made it clear to her that she was meant to work in hearing care. She loves helping people and always has. And now she gets to make a difference in patients' lives every single day.
We always have our patients' best interests in mind. We want them to feel like family - not a patient - and we are grateful for their trust. Some of our longtime patients will drive two hours just to come see us because we've developed such strong relationships with them and they know we'll take good care of them. It has been a fun and wonderful process to open Together Hearing. Each step to this point has been a learning experience.
"I am grateful to many friends, family, doctors, and patients for helping me achieve this dream, and for believing in me."
Nick has been in the medical field for 16 years. Before joining Kassandra and Together Hearing, he was employed by Holmes Regional Hospital. He is a certified anesthesia technologist. He is currently continuing his education to obtain his hearing aid license.
Kassandra and Nick are very busy raising their two little ones, Evan (7) and Isabel (10). "They are our world," say Nick and Kassandra.
"We are a very active family and love to laugh! Our oldest, Isabel, was my first office assistant during the summer. They love visiting the office and greeting our patients."
Our mission carries even beyond our everyday practice. We love to give back to our local community. "I have worked with our Rockledge Lions Club, and we are currently looking to support the Florida School for the Death and Blind. This holiday, we will be hosting our first Hear for the Holidays Campaign.
We will be collecting letters from those in our community who are not able to afford hearing aids - once they are confirmed a candidate for hearing correction, they will be in a drawing to receive a free set of hearing aids. This will become a yearly event!
